Why "Cabbages" is the only newsletter worth getting new music from

Newsletters seem like a really weird concept right now. With things like social media and Soundcloud, it seems pretty easy to find great music to listen to everyday. It's also extremely easy to find hot garbage that could ruin the whole vibe you were trying to get.

What about if you want to know more about an artist you really like? Who has time to read a 12 tweet thread?

Cabbages, a newsletter founded by veteran music journalist Gary Suarez has you covered. The weekly newsletter features easily digestible articles about Bad Bunny, French Montana, Bhad Bhabie and Trinidad James. The newsletter also includes quick reviews of three recently released projects and a Q&A with someone from the industry - being form Cleveland my personal favorite so far has been with Kipp Stone.

Not to mention, it's free. All you need is an email address.

This is a rap nerd's wet dream of  hip-hop content. Every newsletter includes Suarez's wit and fresh take on the industry. From examining viral stars to shitting on My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy (of which I do not take kindly to, even though Kanye is an asshat), it never gets boring.

Y'all may think a newsletter is outdated but with Substack on the rise, it may just be how you get your news in the future.

Let me know what you think,

P.S. I know times are hard right now but if you can, absolutely subscribe to this newsletter by paying - it's $7 a month for quality content every time.
