Gems Select: Five things every rapper should get this holiday

Tis' the season ya'll which means it's time to break out our pen and pads to find some dope xmas gifts to ask Santa for this season. Unfortunately 2020 has hit every one hard so not everyone can ask for Hublots, PS5s and Gucci sneakers (one can dream though). Luckily, I have five items that are all dope and won't break the bank that I think every up and coming artist should have.

Obviously this list could also include typical things like microphones, studio equipment and other things. Honestly though,  think after 2020 we all deserve to treat ourselves, so this list will focus on things that we can get ourselves for a job well done of not dying this year.

Gun metal Invicta Watch

Yeah, yeah, we've heard about the gold watch - been there, done that.

Why not try something different with a gun metal watch this year? This thing is hard core - it's eye popping but subtle, it's serious hardware but can be worn without a suit, it's jewelry for those uncertain of jewelry.

It's also dope as hell.

Check it here at Amazon for $73 - a steal.

Some tough jewelry that won't break or break the bank

Speaking of jewelry, wha rapper's fit is complete without some hardware for their fingers?

The problem is, it's fucking expensive to get some decent rings that don't look fake or corny. This one is up for interpretation but I think a sterling silver ring from gthic can help you find that balance of affordable good looking jewelry.

Most of these rings fall under $30 and while it's not gold plated or diamond crusted - they're head turners.

Chelsea Boots because they're still fucking dope

Let's be real, these bad boys never went out of style.

Sure, Kanye made them hot but they didn't need his help to do that. For sneaker heads looking for something different, these are still the boots to get. They slip on easy, they can be dressed up or down and they're surprisingly comfortable with a cork bed sole that molds to your foot over time.

Check them out at Thursday Boot's website - their $200 but with afterpay the payment can be split down into something more affordable

A dope shirt with a message

There's no way around it - tie-dye is fire.

Every hot streetwear brand out is doing some sort of take on it from Online Ceramics to Cactus Plant Flea Market. Being a small time journalist, I cannot afford any of that so I spent a good day or so trying to find a good alternative and I found one in the Parks Project.

Literally all of this brand's stuff is dope - hoodies, hats, shirts

Stress Relief Body Lotion because mental health matters too

I am absolutely addicted to this stuff - I love the smell so much that I have a pillow spray to help me fall asleep and a soap to relax when I shower. I'm like Gayle from Bob's Burgers and her peppermint addiction.

Come on now, we can get ourselves all the swag in the world but taking care of our mental health allows us to feel good in all the cool shit we get this holiday season.

Get it at Bath and Body Works for $13.50

Happy holidays y'all
