Motivate your hustle with a podcast by Jeff Staple and HYPEBEAST

Earlier this week, Elliot Wilson followed the blog on Twitter. Being a kid that grew up reading XXL in the early 2000's and Rap Radar now, this was a huge cosign and motivational boost for me. However, as all hustlers know, that feeling of complacency is short lived and instead we need to keep ourselves motivated through other means.

I submit to you: Business of HYPE, a podcast hosted by designer Jeff Staples (Pigeon Dunks anyone?). Here, Staples interviews some of the biggest names in fashion music and gaming and to understand  their success. (If y'all haven't gotten into podcasts yet, wtf are you doing?)

For example, one of the people I've been fixated on for the past few years is Salehe Bembury of Versace. Ever since he released Versace's Chain Reaction, I've quietly hoped I would make enough money to some day own a pair (they're insanely expensive to a journalist making pennies on the dime). Staples interviews Bembury about his come up and how he was dogmatic in his grind to become the head of Versace's shoe division.

Did you know Bembury started out working at Payless? Or that he got the job at Versace by messaging a higher up on LinkedIn while going to the bathroom?

All of this is talked about but what makes this podcast intriguing is how Staples approaches these talking points. Before he moves on to a different section of the interview, he breaks into his conversation and high lights the main points of each part. He walks you through what each person is talking about so that you can apply it to your own ethic.

For me, Wilson was an amazing start. Now, I won't stop until Jimmy Iovine, Rick Rubin, Jay-Z and Diddy follow me.

Here's a link to the Bembury interview below, let me know what you think:
