Benny the Butcher releases new album, "Burden of Proof"

 


The Griselda hits keep coming.

This time in the form of a Benny the Butcher album, "Burden of Proof." The 12 track album come complete with guest verses from Lil Wayne, Freddie Gibbs and Rick Ross and of course Griselda mates Conway the Machine and Westside Gunn. This album is PACKED with classic boom bap songs produced by Hit-Boy.

Fave Tracks:Sly Green, Burden of Proof, Legend and One Way Flight Ft. Freddie Gibbs.

I think my only issue is that I can't decide who my favorite rapper from Griselda is. All of them have absolutely dominated this year. Until I can figure that out, check out the song, "Burden of Proof," below and then stream the album:

  I really fucking hate Mondays. I really really really fucking hate Mondays that follow a holiday. It's almost like I've completely rebooted and forgot how to do my job or function as well as I did before the holiday. Jaden goes sneaker shopping with Complex

  Jaden Smith has been an artist that took a SHIT ton of time for me to get into. I just didn't understand what he was going for. However, recently his music is all me and Zoe seem to play on long drives or when we're not doing anything. On Monday, Complex released a Sneaker Shopping episode with him and it was cool to learn more about who he is outside of the music. The 10 minute episode at Sole Stage covers a lot of things including his new balance balenciaga sneakers, his dad's legacy in sneakers and his effort helping homeless people on skid row get shoes. The Cut: Canadian rappers are invading our country and TOBi is leading the charge

  This is the second Canadian I've featured on the blog, I'm sensing a trend. If I could best describe the type of music that will more than likely make it on to the blog, I can break it down into one word - Unique. If you looked that word up, a picture of Nigerian-Canadian rapper TOBi would be right next to the word and I think I'm underselling this dude's music. One song we get trumpets, an old school sample and west coast rhymes, the next we get stripped back drums with slick versatile lyrics. Favorite lyrics: Above - "You're well spoken for a black man, that's how you serve a compliment with your back hand." Below- "Proud boys make noise, lions roar to a cats meow, pound for pound in the ring I'm Pacquiao." Maybe I'm late on this one, I don't care he needs to be talked about more.
